Dana Ray Tracy "Trout" was born March 29, 1946, in Vancouver, Washington. He passed this earth on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the age of 67. He was married to Trudy Shanks on February 5, 1981, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

3 daughters: Tiffany, Tasha and Shorty and their husbands
5 grandchildren: Jordan, Trae, Drake, Cooper and Bryn
He was preceded in death by his father
and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mr. Tracy was employed with the Town of Gore for over thirty years. He retired on April 30, 2013. Mr. Tracy graduated from the police academy on May 28, 1982, and was an active Reserve Deputy for Sequoyah County Sheriff Department. Mr. Tracy was also employed by the Alpine forestry in Alpine, California and the Pepsi Cola bottling company in San Diego, California. Mr. Tracy was on the Gore School Board, where he was currently serving his second term as a member.
Mr. Tracy was an active member of the Rural Fire Protection District #1, where he dedicated countless hours of service for over twenty years. His dedication to his fire department was done out of love for the people and his firemen.
Mr. Tracy loved to hunt and fish…that’s where he was given the name of "Trout". You could always find him on a bank somewhere with his fishing pole and his white five gallon bucket, where there was plenty of "Trout" inside.
Every Christmas during the annual Gore Christmas parade you would find Mr. Tracy better known as "Santa Claus" on the back of the BIG RED fire truck. |
