Mrs. Taylor was born July 21, 1929 in Muskogee, Ok., the daughter of Ira Thrasher and
Gladys (Lewis) Thrasher. She was a 1947 graduate of Sallisaw High School and received
her Associates degree from Connors State College in Warner, and her bachelors and masters from NSU in Tahlequah, Ok. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Ok. Mrs. Taylor began her teaching career at Carlile Schools and also taught at Hominy Schools.
She retired from Sallisaw Schools after 37 years. She taught business education, typing and English at the high school level. She passed this life on September 21, 2008 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas after having attained the age of 79 years and 2 months.
Survivors are:
2 sons: Ricky Joe Taylor of Sallisaw, Ok. and Steve Taylor of Gore, Ok.
3 grandsons: Jeremy Taylor, Steven and J.T. Morgan
3 great grandchildren: Christopher, Denver and T.J.
1 nephew: John Risinger and wife, Becky
1 niece: Dawana Risinger
1 great niece: Cadence
1 great nephew: Garrett
