Margaret Hanson Tarver, 92, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Vian, Oklahoma. She was born December 31, 1924 in Washburn, North Dakota, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Anderson) Gustafson. She was married to Arlo Monroe Hanson on May 2, 1946 in Underwood, North Dakota. They were married 28 years before he preceded her in death in 1974. She was married to Ralph Archeson Tarver on May 4, 1990 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1994. Mrs. Tarver was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw.
Survivors are:
3 daughters: Beverly Dodd and husband, Michael of Sallisaw, OK, Janet Szczypien and husband, Steve of Houston, TX, and Patricia McFadden and husband, Larry of Tulsa, OK
3 sons: Arlan Hanson and wife, Janie of Tahlequah, OK, Richard Hanson of Tahlequah, OK, and Jim Hanson and wife, Kathy of Ft. Smith, AR
14 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arlo Hanson; second husband, Ralph Tarver; 1 great granddaughter, Cadence; her parents, Carl and Martha Gustafson; 2 sisters, Leona Ash and Gaeraldine Lenzen; and 2 brothers, Teddy and Lester Gustafson
Funeral service is Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday at 6 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.
