Teanie was born on April 5, 1918, in Hanson, Oklahoma, one of nine children born to Thomas Burns and Mayme (Gann) Burns. She grew up in Akins, Oklahoma, and married Julius M. Smith on October 17, 1942. Julius and Teanie made their home in Tulsa and had one son, Jim V. Smith. Teanie was a homemaker and a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church for many years, and belonged to the Eastern Star. After her husband passed away, she was active in Single Friends of Tulsa and the Rushing Stars Square Dancing Club, and she joined Calvary Baptist Church. She passed this life on May 7, 2008 in Tulsa, Ok. after attaining the age of 90 years, 1 month and 2 days. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, seven brothers and sisters, and her very special Aunt Sis.
She is survived by sister Eweldane Worley; son Jim V. Smith and his wife Ginny; grandchildren Dusty Smith and his wife Amy, Carrie Smith, Julie Hackler and her husband Ryan; great-grandchildren Bailey Heldmar, Peyton Smith, Hannah Smith, Luke Hackler and Natalie Hackler. |
