Mr. Homer Leon Shockey was born August 18, 1942 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, the son of Grover Cleveland Shockey and Stella Mae Harris Shockey. He was married to Doris Jean Holmes Shockey on December 27, 1970 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He was a cattle rancher and the Owner/Operator of Shockeys Wrecker Service in Sallisaw and Sequoyah County. Homer was a former Coon Hunter and loved to hunt. He played the harmonica and especially enjoyed playing in church. Homer was a big Gospel Music Fan. Homer passed this life on January 24, 2008 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 65 years, 5 months and 6 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing: wife: Doris of the home; 2 daughters and sons in law: Carla and David Fivekiller of Akins, Ok., and Vicki and Jeremy Swimmer of Sallisaw, Ok.; 2 sons and 1 daughter in law: Darren Shockey of Oklahoma, and Doug and Susan Shockey of Sallisaw, Ok.; 13 grandchildren: Heather Woods, Ashley Fivekiller, Bobby and Jennifer Philpot, Zaver and Nikki Swimmer, Brandon, Jason, Megan, Chris, Matt, Chase and Katie Shockey; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother: J.C. Shockey of Vian, Ok.; 2 sisters: Jennie Reese and Norma Robbins, both of Seminole, Ok.; 2 brothers in law: Raymond Tomlin and Larry Holmes; mother in law: Maxine Holmes; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends
