Faithfully committed wife, loving mother, adoring Gammy, devoted daughter, caring in law, selfless sister, doting Aunt Dada, precious friend, zealous coworker, photographer extraordinaire, Dana Lynn McLaughlin Sharp celebrated the first day of eternity on Saturday, December 20, 2008 in Breckenridge, Colorado.  Dana was born September 7, 1959 in Albert Lee, Minnesota.  She was the second of three children born to Irene Edwards McLaughlin Erwin and Eugene McLaughlin.  Dana attended Kindergarten in Whitefield, New York.  Grades 1 through 8 were spent at Belfonte Public Schools.  Dana was a proud 1977 Muldrow High School Graduate.  After a years attendance at Northeastern State College, on May 18, 1978 she married Michael Dean Sharp in Muldrow, OK .  In addition to her parents, she leaves to cherish her memory:  Mike, her husband of 30 years; her sons, Chris Sharp and wife Whitney of Sallisaw, OK, Craig Sharp and wife Rachel and four year old granddaughter, Micha of Van Buren, AR.  Her sisters, Genia Means of Sallisaw, OK and Amy Pierce and husband Joel of Sallisaw, OK.  nieces and nephews, Becky Means Meadows and husband Dulaney and great niece Alivia of Sallisaw, OK, Renae Means Williams and husband Travis and great nephew Easton of Sallisaw, OK,  Alex Pierce and Nick Pierce of Sallisaw, OK.
Dana loved her aunts and uncles, cousins and in-laws.  She will be missed by her extended family, coworkers and many friends.  Those who were waiting for her in heaven were her brother in law Tommy Dale Means and niece Gwyn Renae Means.  Dana's life exemplified the meaning of love, character, integrity, courage, determination, dedication and excellence as she selflessly focused on her mission in life, to raise her boys.  Her words and actions inspired the admiration and utmost love and respect from her boys and those who watched up close and from afar.  Dana was masterful in being a parent and motivator and also remaining youthful in mind and spirit.   This perhaps was the reason her boys friends loved to go to Danas.  She had an innate ability to capture the interest of young people and to make them believe that they could achieve anything they could envision.  Dana was a born photographer.  She loved to capture the art of living, to chronicle her family and friends history with pictures and videos.  She had the talent to manage two cameras at the same time, but beyond that great talent, her greatest talent was being a devoted daughter, wife, mother and Gammy.  She had the truly great combination of grit, determination and love for her family as well as a great love for her Lord and Savior and her Journey Church.  She was truly a virtuous woman whose price was beyond rubies for the heart of her husband was safely entrusted in her and her children do rise up and call her blessed.  Dana will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched for the boundless love, guidance and unwavering dedication she always gave to her family, her church and her community.
