Hazel (Owens) Shackelford was born July 18, 1919 in Paw Paw community, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and America (Wann) Owens. She married Ivan Jefferson Shackelford, Sr. in 1948 in Searcy, Arkansas and he preceded her in on December 26, 1988. Mrs. Shackelford passed this life on November 25, 2016 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas at the age of 97.
She leaves to mourn her passing:
3 daughters: Christine Jennings of Muldrow, OK, Shirley Mooring of Muldrow, OK, and Brenda and Ronnie Rogers of Ft. Smith, AR
1 son: Marvin and Connie Shackelford of Charleston, AR
27 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren
2 sisters: Lela Waldrop of Roland, OK and Ruth LaFern Shackelford of Muldrow, OK
2 brothers: Edward Owens of Sallisaw, OK and Donald Wayne Owens of Missouri
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Jefferson Shackelford, Sr.; 1 daughter, Juanita Tabor; 5 sons, William F. Shackelford, Donald Shackelford, Gerald Shackelford, Ivan Jefferson Shackelford, Jr., and Gerald Kenneth Tuck; 1 grandchild, Nancy Woodall; 1 great grandchild, Mason Weir; her parents, John and American (Wann) Owens; and 2 sisters, Essie Gibbons and Marie Chapman
Funeral service is Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma with burial at Cottonwood Cemetery.
Viewing will be Monday from nnon - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow. The family will greet from 6 - 8 pm.
