Joseph Wayne Rothers was born March 1, 1971 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Darrell Keith and Gayle Fern (McCoy) Rothers. Joe was a 1990 graduate of Vian High School where he enjoyed playing football. Growing up, Joe loved swimming, getting together with family and friends, and watching any Star Trek movie. Although he had lost his eyesight he was most always in a good mood. He like to laugh and enjoyed making other people laugh. His main pride and Joy was his dog"Bruiser". He passed this life on February 16, 2016 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas at the age of 44. He leaves to mourn his passing: Companion: Doris Bingham of the home Mother: Gayle Rothers of Evening Shade, OK 2 brothers: JC and Jeannette of Claremore, OK and Greg of Muldrow, OK 2 sisters: Lucinda and Jon Washington of Tahlequah, OK and Terri and Brian Haith of Fremont, NE 6 nieces: Alissa, Alia, Abigayle, Margaret, Kerstin and Shelby 3 nephews: JC Jr., Coty and Kyle several other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Keith Rothers; grandparents, Jimmie and Lucy McCoy and Phil and Fern Rothers; and nephew, Shawn Rothers Funeral service is Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10 am at Vian Creek Baptist Church with burial at McCoy Evening Shade Cemetery. Viewing is Thursday 10 am - 1 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The wake will begin at 2 pm Thursday at the home.
