Paul David Rhodes, 61, left his earthly home Sunday, April 9th. His body couldn’t hold his strong spirit any longer. David was born March 11, 1956 and raised in Muldrow, OK by Russell and Dorothy Rhodes. He enjoyed a childhood full of sock baseball, creek baths, and adventure alongside his three brothers Dennis, Geary, and Eddie. David was grateful when given the chance to pitch for the Razorbacks and earn a degree in education. He met his wife Dana in Bristow, OK while working his first coaching position. He won her over and they were married after nine months of dating in 1980. Four years later, they had their first and only child, Sarah. David was a dutiful son, loyal brother, devoted husband, adoring father, and invested uncle. David later continued his professional endeavors by taking positions in Dewey and then Wagoner. He brought his journey full circle with a return to Muldrow as an administrator, having had discovered numerous comrades along the way. In every town, David used hugs, jokes, and analogies to connect with students. He sought to form relationships that would better the lives of everyone who knew him. David eventually retired in 2013 after 34 years of service in education. He then spent countless days golfing and taking countryside rides with his adopted pups Bogey and Birdie.
