Mrs. Matthews was born April 5, 1913 in Bartlesville, Ok., the daughter of Alexander Ross and Oklahoma (Sanders) Ross. She was married to Loy Matthews, Sr. on October 29, 1930 in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1961 in Sallisaw. Mrs. Matthews was a homemaker, former owner and operator of Daylight Donuts, former cook at Lessley's Cafe and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She passed this life on April 10, 2008 at Sallisaw, Ok. after having attained the age of 95 years and 5 days.

2 daughters and 1 son in law: Marie and J.C. Alexander of Canton, Tx
and Lora Keen of Sallisaw, Ok.
2 sons/daughters in law: Loy Melvin & Dorothy Matthews of Sallisaw
and Kenneth Eugene and Faye Matthews of Van Buren, Ark.
