Funeral services for Joan Adelaide Kobert, 80, of Sallisaw, will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Sallisaw with Reverend Al Potts officiating. Reception to follow at the church.
Joan was born in Springfield, MA. to Dixon & Dorothy Riggs. She was brought up in New York City, and graduated from the Phoenix School of design, and became a Graphic Designer.
She moved to Sallisaw after her second husband, John, retired from the United States Postal Service in 1983. They bought a ranch up on Brushy Mountain, and lived there with their son John, until 2000 when they bought and moved to the home on North Dogwood.
Joan was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Sallisaw for many years.
Survivors include her daughter Susan Adelaide, and her husband Paul Tsutsumi, of Palos Verdes Estates, CA; Her son John Dixon Kobert, and his wife Nichole, of Midland, TX; and a stepdaughter Kathryn Marie Letsom, of Redwood Valley CA; two step-grandsons and a several great-grandchildren. Also surviving her is her sister, Sally Riggs of Richmond, CA.
