Cephus Finney, 90, of Vian, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in Vian. He was born April 11, 1927 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma the son of Mansfield Finney, Sr. and Emma D. (Martin) Finney. He was married to Odessa Wright and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2008. Mr. Finney was a U.S. Army Veteran, a farmer, and a Baptist.

Survivors are:

4 sons: Cy Finney of Vian, OK, Brian Finney of Vian, OK, James Finney of Muldrow, OK, and Rodney Finney of Vian, OK

2 daughters: Minnie Louise Nance of Muldrow, OK and Linda Flake of Ft. Smith, AR

16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren

3 brothers: Mansfield Finney Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Jackie Finney and wife Hazel of Cookson, OK, and Cary Finney of Webbers Falls, OK

6 sisters: Dorothy Jean Pointer and Betty Finney, both of Washington D.C., Lorene Revels of Phoenix, AZ, Dollie Guyther of Temple Hills, MD, Virginia Walker of Mendenhall, MS and Jacqueline Ryan of Okmulgee, OK

He was preceded in death by his wife, Odessa; 3 sons, Ed Finney, Leo Choate, and Jimmy Wright; parents, Mansfield and Emma Finney; 4 brothers, Bobby Gene Finney, Alvin Clay Finney, Pete Finney and Jim Finney; 2 sisters, Marie Johnson and Sherry Finney; and great grandson, King Brooks

Funeral service is Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11 am at Vian Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Viewing is Wednesday from 10 am - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Active Pallbearers are Shelby Glass, Johnathan Finney, Tyron Finney, Daniel Nance, Tremell Mays, and Gilbert Horton
