Obituary

Herbert H. Dennis was born April 1, 1929 in Sand Town Bottoms, Oklahoma, the son of Calvin Dennis and Viola Holt Dennis. He married Hazel Lee Myers Dennis on November 17, 1954 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mr. Dennis began working at the Vian Sundry Store when he was 11 years old and was the owner for more than 50 years. He served as the Mayor of Vian for several years, Vian City Clerk for 17 years and a school bus driver for 38 years. He was active in the Quarterback Club and was a play by play announcer for Junior High. He had a servant's heart. Mr. Dennis passed this life on October 20, 2011 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 82 years, 6 months and 19 days.

and Glenda and David Sires of Tulsa, Ok.
1 son: Herbert H. Dennis of Abbeville, La.
4 grandchildren: Johannah Fischer, Rachael,
Joshua and Isaac Sires

C.D. and Alma Dennis of Porterville, Ca.

He was preceded in death by his parents,
2 sisters: Jewell Catlett and Margie Gower,
and 6 brothers: Olen, Ted and Willis Barker
