Obituary
Jim Day was born August 13, 1933 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, the son of Rudolph Edmond Day and Dorothy Sarah Holliman Day. He was married to Shirley Morgan on Nov. 10, 1954 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mr. Day worked at Hunts Department Store in Ft. Smith, Ar. for 35 years and retired from USA Truck after 15 years. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland, Ok. where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Moderator. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an avid gardener. Mr. Day passed this life on December 11, 2008 in Roland, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 75 years, 3 months and 28 days.
Survivors are:
Wife of 54 years: Shirley of the home 1 daughter and son in law: Judy and Mark Burnett of Shady Point, Ok. 1 son and daughter in law: Jim Don and Jane Day of Ft. Smith, Ar. 1 son in law: Scott Kolaas of Calmar, Iowa 2 granddaughters: Mandy and Morgan Burnett 3 grandsons: Jim Day, Zachary and Tyler Kolaas 4 sisters: Paralea Smith, Maggie Deuster, Emma Foster and Goldie Maxwell 4 brothers: Junior Day, Bill Day, Frank Day and Charlie Day several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Theresa Kolaas, 1 granddaughter: Brandi Day and his parents: Rudolph and Dorotha Day
