James Jessie Cox, 87, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Sallisaw. He was born April 2, 1929 in Foreman community, Oklahoma the son of Jess and Narciss (Fargo) Cox. He was married to Roma Lee Kelly on July 2, 1951 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2012. Mr. Cox was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea, an engineer for Southwestern Bell Telephone and a member of Grand Lodge of Oklahoma #96 in McAlister.
Survivors are:
1 daughter and son in law: Vickie Ann and Robert Kinnick of Inola, OK
1 granddaughter: Jaime Lynn Henson and husband, Kyle of Sallisaw, OK
1 great grandson: Rider Dale Henson
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roma Lee Cox; his parents, Jess and Narciss Cox; and 4 brothers, Ed, Jack, Garland, and Willis Cox
Graveside service will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1 pm at Cowlington Cemetery in Cowlington, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Viewing will be Tuesday 10 am - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet from 6 - 8 pm.
