Nellie Mae Cole, 89, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 15, 2016 in Searcy. She was born November 27, 1926 in Newton, West Virginia to Granville and Ethel Moss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Harlie Lee Cole, her husband of 59 years; a sister, Oreta of New York; and a son, Michael Lee Cole of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her oldest son, Harlie David Cole and his wife Barbara of Searcy, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hawes, JoEllyn Cooper, Leslie Quinton, and David Cole; and six great grandchildren.
Nellie and her husband were long-time members of the churches of Christ. They did their best to use their lives in God's service. After working two years in an aircraft factory during World War II, she spent the rest of her life as a loving wife and mother. Never one to call attention to herself, she was always more interested in serving the needs of others than tending to her own wants and needs. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Funeral service was held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 2 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
