Franklin Cockrell was born December 13, 1935 in Wabbaseka, Arkansas, the son of Horace Franklin Cockrell, Sr. and Aretta Freeman Cockrell. He was married to Opal Carolyn DiGiacinto in 1988 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on November 30, 2010. Mr. Cockrell passed this life on April 17, 2011 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas after having attained the age of 75 years, 4 months and 4 days.
