Obituary

Mr. W.O. Cherry, Jr was born October 8, 1920 in Paw Paw community, Oklahoma, the son of William O. Cherry, Sr. and Nettie Scott Cherry.  He married Inez Norman Cherry on November 14, 1941 in Paw Paw community, Oklahoma.  Mr. Cherry was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Staff Sargeant.  He loved raising and running his race horses and being with his family.  Mr. Cherry was in car sells for 32 years, a Real Estate developer until the age of 86, he was inducted into the Blue Ribbon Downs Horsemans Hall of Fame, and was a 50 year mason.  He attended Calvary Temple Full Gospel Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.  Mr. Cherry passed this life on December 30, 2008 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 88 years,
2 months and 22 days.

Survivors are:

wife of 67 years:  Inez Cherry of the home
1 son and daughter in law:  Bill and Gina Cherry of Stigler, Ok.
1 daughter and son in law:  Donna and Dwight Graham of Sallisaw, Ok.
4 grandchildren:  B.J. Cherry of Greenwood, Ar.,
Leann Stockton and husband Jason of McAlester, Ok.,
K.D. Graham and wife Michele of Sallisaw, Ok. and
Destry Graham and friend Tiffany Conley of Sallisaw, Ok.
4 great grandchildren:  Tyler and Maegan Cherry and
Jacob and Garrett Graham
1 brother and sister in law:  J.T. and Hermena Cherry of Sallisaw, Ok.
4 sisters and 1 brother in law:  Mildred Haskins, Alta Beaty, and Norma Jo and Wayne Efurd all of Roland, Ok. and Bernice Thompson of Tulsa, Ok.
several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters:  Eula Payne and Evelyn Green and 2 brothers:  Orville Doc Cherry and Fritts Cherry
