Obituary

Godfrey Ray Brant, of Sallisaw, was born October 20, 1937 in Stigler, Oklahoma to D.C. and Lizzie Brant and passed away August 28, 2012 at the age of 74.  Godfrey was a 1955 Stigler High School graduate and a 1959 Oklahoma State graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science.  Upon graduation from college he was employed with the Soil Conservation Service at Coalgate, Oklahoma where he married his wife Joyce in 1962.  In 1965 he moved to Sallisaw, Oklahoma with the Soil Conservation Service.  Later he became an Ag Chemical Salesman for F.M.C. Corporation.  His real love was his Angus cattle ranch near Sallisaw.  In addition to his cattle he raised registered Duroc hogs for over 20 years.  He served in the Air Force Reserves in the 1960’s.

 He is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; two daughters,
Joy Kay Williams and husband David of Wichita, KS and Ginger Rae Albin and husband Ben of Tulsa; one son, Jeffrey Ray Brant and wife Molly of Redland community, OK; one brother, Dr. Douglas W. Brant and wife Lyn of Edmond, OK; five grandchildren, Kayleen Williams, John Williams, Brooklyn Albin, Joseph Albin and Alex Brant. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
