Obituaries

On Tuesday, May 9th as the new day's dawn broke, Paul Stanley Blaylock passed away. Though his body was frail and tired, his spirit was full of grateful appreciation to be able to draw another determined breath every second he was graced on earth. He lived on his terms and was happy to leave when the Lord called him into His eternal care. Stanley passed away peacefully during the night.

There was never a moment that he wasn’t encouraging his kids, students, and wife. He enjoyed camping and would do anything to stay there if possible. Stanley always saw the best in people, never judged them and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Up until the end, his positive outlook and his faith in Jesus Christ was contagious and well known. Stanley attended school at Muldrow as well as Northeastern State University where he received his Master’s Degree in Education. He retired from Liberty Schools as the Superintendent in 1993 after becoming ill.

He loved fishing and living on a farm. For many years, Jerald, Bruce, and Stanley worked cattle on the farm. Throughout the last years of his life, his passion turned into fishing. Weather it was fishing in a pond or lake he didn’t care. Many of his proudest moments involved those spent with his family friends. Every day at 4:00 he had coffee ready for his friends. The funny thing is, he never drank coffee. He was able to take care of his mother, his granddaughter Kealee, his wife of 40 years, two daughters, and his grandson Cade.

He was preceded in death by his precious granddaughter, Kealee Stewart; Parents: Bruce and Vola Blaylock, and sister Jean Ann Morgan.

He left behind his beloved wife, Nelda Blaylock;

Two Daughters and a son in law; Jared and Heather Armer, Lisa Blaylock both of Muldrow

Grandchildren; Cade Paul Armer, Shelbie Boatright, and Max Will Wallace and two grand dogs, Anna Beth and Rumble

Great Granddaughter Rose Boatright

He was a man of faith. He attended First Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was always involved in activities even up until his last days.

The doctors told his family 23 years ago he would never walk again and had a year to live. God had bigger plans for him. He is a living testimony of God’s will being executed. In the last ten years, he was told 8 times he would not make it out of surgery…and time and time again he did. I (Heather) always told him I was going to raise all kinds of problems so he had to stay alive to keep me in line. Only once did he say to me after numerous surgeries that he was tired of fighting. He never complained (he said it didn’t do any good). He was in pain daily, but you never would’ve known it. As many people have said, "they don’t make men like him anymore."

He will be greatly missed. He was so much to so many.

We will miss you husband, papa, and daddy!
