Mrs. Stratton was born February 15, 1927 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the daughter of Arthur Hugh Burkey and Hildegard Knaus Burkey. She was married to Howard Stratton on October 3, 1948 in Cushing, Ok. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1988 in Tahlequah, Ok.
Mrs. Stratton was a graduate of Cushing High School and received her Bachelor degree from Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, Ok. She was a homemaker, rancher and a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She passed this life on July 29, 2008 in Muskoge, Oklahoma after
having attained the age of 81 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Survivors are:
2 daughters and sons in law: Phyllis and Tom Griffin of Gainesville, Tx.
Sarah and Junior Barton of Cookson, Ok.
1 son and daughter in law: David and Rita Stratton of Cookson, Ok.
9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren
several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son: George,
1 grandchild: Grant and 2 brothers: Jack and Sonny Burkey |
