Obituary

Oma Pauline “Polly” Dobbs Smith was born June 16, 1924 in McKey community, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry Harold Dobbs and Bessie Jane (Bynum) Dobbs.  She married Nelson Alexander Smith on January 25, 1947 in Paris, Texas.  He preceded her in death on April 7, 1991 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  Mrs. Smith passed this life on August 9, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Polly was a sweet and loving person with admirable courage and strength.  She led a life of always helping others.  Her loving acceptance and nature touched all those she met.  She help support many elderly individuals in the Siloam Springs and Tahlequah area. 

Nelson and Polly were actively involved with leadership roles in church and Boy Scout Programs, in which all four sons became Eagle Scouts.  She and Nelson served as great role models for their children and their community.

She is survived by:
 four sons and three daughters-in-law:
Chadwick “Corntassel” and Bobbie Smith of Tahlequah, Ok.,
Kyle and Kathleen Smith of Houston, Tx.,
Shane Smith of Los Angeles, Ca.,
 and Dwight and Nikki Smith of Atlanta, Ga.,

 ten grandchildren: Kiah, Chris, Shea, Ian, Cameron,
Anaweg, Lindsey, Macy, Kyle and Caitlin,
 
three sisters: Orlene Catherine “Cat” Beck of McKey community, Ok., Ora Lee Kirk of McKey community, Ok.,
 and Opal Patsy Harris of San Antonio, Tx,

one brother: Oren Douglas Dobbs of McKey community, Ok.

Other family members include Doug & Marti Reed, Joan & Ted Mueller, Doug Reed Jr., Julie Reed, and Lilith Thompson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband,  her parents, 2 sisters: Ola Jean Norvell and Oletha Mae Nihiser and 4 brothers:  Otis, Oliver “Windy”, Olen Lee “Red”, and Orville Harold Dobbs
