Mildred "Babe" Efurd Shackelford was born on October 5, 1922 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the daughter of O.W. Efurd, Sr. and Verlon Evelie McAlister Efurd. She was married to Stephen Thomas Shackelford on August 12, 1945 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1986 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Mrs. Shackelford passed this life on October 16, 2015 in Roland, Oklahoma at the age of 93. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Roland, where she served as former sunday school teacher, treasurer and was an active participant in all church activities. She was a volunteer at Brownwood Life Center and she and Lucille Edwards were the founding members of the Roland Alumni Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 3 brothers: Buddy Efurd, Wayne Efurd and O.W. "Dub" Efurd, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Muldrow, OK.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Efurd, George Efurd, Bill Burt Chisum, Pat O'Bryan and Gary Treat
Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Wood, Rocky Wood, Lowell Efurd, Larry Efurd and Jerry Efurd
Viewing will be 3 - 8 pm Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Muldrow, OK
where the family will greet with friends from 5 - 7 pm
