Janice (Palmer) Remy, 93, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was born March 15, 1923 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma the daughter of Duff and Pearl Emma (Pryor) Palmer. She married Calvin Loyd Remy on May 27, 1942 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2011. Mrs. Remy was a former Tag agent for Sequoyah County Tag Agency and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw.
Survivors are:
1 daughter: Julia Spearman of Van Buren, AR
4 grandchildren: Mike Remy of Sallisaw, OK, Shannon and Phillip Hampton of Van Buren, AR, Susan and Doug Shockey of Sallisaw, OK, and Sean and Sarah Spearman of Van Buren, AR
9 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren
1 sister: Barbara Paxton of Ft. Smith, AR
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Loyd Remy; son, Jim Remy; her parents, Duff and Pearl Emma (Pryor) Palmer; 3 sisters, Charlene Bledsoe, Dolores Ballinger and Imogene Weese and 5 brothers, Carmen, Bob, Dewayne, Robbie Dale and Jerry Dean Palmer
Funeral service will be Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11 am at Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma with Bro. Tommy Hawkins and Rev. Curtis Bias officiating. Burial will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Viewing will be Tuesday noon - 8 pm and Wednesday 10 am - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin
Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet Wednesday 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home
Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren
