Obituary

Ray Goodloe “Pete” Peters, 94, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord and his family and friends on March 24, 2011.  Ray was born August 22, 1916 in Seven Oaks community, Oklahoma, the son of Lorenzo Manuel Peters and Dora (Frye) Peters.  He married Maude Helen (Shackelford) Peters on March 2, 1941 in Wagoner, Oklahoma.  Mr. Peters obtained his Masters in Education from Northeastern State University.  He was a retired school teacher and former Jr. High Principal at Muldrow Public Schools.  Mr. Peters was a member of Akins Baptist Church, an Army Veteran of WWII where he served in the South Pacific Theater and a member of the Bruton Masonic Lodge #30. 

 

Survivors are:

 

3 daughters and 2 sons in law:

Nancy Bottoms of Muldrow, Ok.

Mary Ann and Carl Edwards of Sallisaw, Ok.

Kathy and Bill English of Muldrow, Ok.

 

6 grandchildren:  Rhonda Rhea Jeremiah, Lisa Kaye Garvin,
 Casey Edwards,
Abe Locust, Sasha English and Rae-Leigh English

 

10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild on the way

 

Sister in law: Nita Peters of Aurora, Co.

 

Several other and relatives and friends

 

He was preceded in death by his wife: Maude Peters, 1 daughter: Dana Rhea, his parents: Lorenzo and Dora Peters, 3 sisters:
Pluma Walters, Mary Lou Claybrook, Anna Lee Deatherow
and 3 brothers: Grady, Arthur, and Leon Peters
