Mr. Willard R. Owens

Mr. Owens was born July 20, 1923 in Cottonwood community, Oklahoma, the son of
Marion Franklin Owens and Cassie Maud (Rogers) Owens. He was married to Lois Faye Eastep on May 3, 1974 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Mr. Owens was a farmer, a US Army veteran of WWII and a member of Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Roland, Ok, the local and national AARP, American Legion Post 339 and the Sequoyah County Democratic Party.
He passed this life on June 22, 2008 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas after having attained
the age of 84 years, 11 months and 2 days.
Survivors are:
wife of 34 years: Lois of the home
2 daughters and 1 son in law: Deborah Vaughn of Houston, Tx.,
Toka and Chris Nelson of Sallisaw, Ok.
2 sons and daughters in law: Jennings and Naomi Owens of Muldrow, Ok.
John David and Andrea Owens of Muldrow, Ok.
8 grandchildren: Tregg and Jadd VanZandt, Jen Owens, Trevan Taliaferro,
Creed Nelson, Jennifer Randolph, Janell "Jill" Ortiz Monasterio and Taylor Taliaferro
8 great grandchildren
2 sisters: Velma Leach of Holtville, Ca. and Lois Russell of Spiro, Ok.
2 brothers: Frank Owens of Roland, Ok. and Dale Owens of Muldrow, Ok.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
2 sisters: Agnes "Babe" Morton and Beulah Watts
