Mr. Jackie Wayne Nimmo

Jackie Wayne Nimmo was born September 22, 1935 in Buffington comm., Ok.,
the son of Ernest Eddie Nimmo, Sr. and Dora Melissa (Hood) Nimmo. He attended
Kesterson Rural Elementary School, Liberty Elementary and Sallisaw High School, graduating
in 1953. He graduated from Northeastern University in Tahlequah with Bachelor of Arts
on Jan. 16, 1958. He taught 5th and 6th grades at Rea Woodman Elementary in Portales,
NM in 1958. Mr. Nimmo obtained his Masters from Wichita State University in 1968 and taught in Wichita Public School system at Harry St School, He was the Assistant Principal at Fairmount Elementary in 1968, Assistant Principal at Linwood Elementary from 1969-1973 and Principal at Kistler Elementary from 1973 - 1977. He moved to Tulsa in 1978, opening a private business before moving to Ponca City where he was a substitute teacher & worked at Ponca City Nursing Home as Social Service and Activites Director until his retirement in 1999. Mr. Nimmo passed this life on September 4, 2008 in Ponca City, Ok.
after having attained the age of 72 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Sharon Kay McDonald of Sallisaw, Ok.
3 brothers & sisters in law: Billy Joe and Phyllis (Patrick) Nimmo of Ponca City, Ok.,
Thomas James and Carol (Ellis) Nimmo of Tulsa, Ok.
Waylan Max and Virginia "Bunny" (Harmon) Nimmo of Sallisaw
1 sister in law: Freda (Cook) Nimmo of Sallisaw, Ok.
many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former students
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister: Virginia Marie "Jiggs" Rousey
and 3 brothers: Jess, George Franklin and Ernest Eddie Jr. "Sonny" Nimmo | |
