Richard Wayne Newman, 67 of Spring City, TN went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2011 at his Spring City residence. Mr. Newman was born December 25, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Richard Newman and Gladys Mathis Newman. He was married to Wilma Bessie Calhoun. Mr. Newman was a carpenter, a member of the Decatur Church of God in Decatur, TN and a member of Meigs County Masonic Lodge #213.
Survivors are:
his wife of 48 years: Wilma of the home
3 daughters and 2 sons in law:
Cyntha Lee and Chuck Oliver of Sallisaw, OK,
Nikki Newman of Spring City, TN and
Dana and Doug Watson of Athens, TN
1 son: Russell Wayne Newman of Sallisaw, OK
11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren
2 sisters: Peggy Womac and Joann Hubbard,
both of Decatur, TN
several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents,
1 son: Joseph Mitchell Newman, 1 sister: Marjorie Pierce
