Obituary

James Lee Nance, 49, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas passed away June 25, 2013 in Ft. Smith. He was born January 18, 1964 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Waymen Lee Nance and Leatta Benton Nance. He accepted Christ at an early age. His childhood and most of his adult life was fondly spent in Muldrow and Redland, Oklahoma. James was a faithful member of New Morning Star Baptist Church. He retired from Baldor as a C&C Operator and was President of the Center Pointe Cemetery Committee. He was a loving husband, father and brother to his sister Barbara.

James was preceded in death by his beloved son, Avery Taylor Nance; a sister, Tina Nance; mother, Leatta Benton Nance; father, Waymen L. Nance; grandparents, Benjamin "Skinner" and Wynona Benton and Daniel and Dovie Nance and uncle Hobbie.

Those left to cherish his special memories are: loving wife, Jeanette Nance; children, David and Stephan Logan and Jaylen Willis, all of Ft. Smith, AR; step daughter, Dawn Watson Whitfield of Indianola, MS; 2 grandsons, Jordan and Julian Whitfield of Indianola, MS; siblings, Barbara Nance Rodriquez of Ft. Smith, Danetta Nance, Danita Nance, Nekitta Nance and Wayne Nance; step mother, Minnie Louise Nance; aunts, Minnie Benton Jones and Effie Benton; great aunt, Dorothy Benton Marion; uncle, Charles Benton and wife Helen; and most beautiful loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends and family.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation, the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this hour of bereavement. May God bless you and keep you. The Nance Benton family
