Doris Jo Melton was born August 30, 1932 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ridge and Ada (Milton) Benge. She was married to Lloyd Leon Melton on May 12, 1969 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2001. Mrs. Melton passed this life on August 13, 2017 in Barling, Arkansas at the age of 84.

she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents, Ridge and Ada (Milton) Benge; 4 sisters, Lorene Brewer, Geraldine Price, Melba Hindman, and Jane Price; 2 brothers, Obie Benge and Bill Benge; and 1 grandson, Jason Rowland
