D. Wayne McConnell, 80, of Muldrow, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Roland, Oklahoma. He was bornJuly 11, 1935 in Muldrow, Oklahoma the son of Creagor and Cora Mae (Sharp) McConnell. He married Jacqueline Ethel Holder on April 12, 1971 in Hamburg, Arkansas. Mr. McConnell was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea and of the Baptist faith. He was the owner/operator of beauty schools and shops in Monroe, Louisiana , pawn shop, bail bondsman and Real Estate Broker.

Cheryl McConnell and Kevin Welker of Monroe, LA and Toni McConnell of Austin, TX
1 granddaughter: Abby McConnell of Monroe, LA
1 great granddaughter: Chloe McConnell of Monroe, LA
2 sisters: Sue Ogle of Oklahoma City, OK and Saundra McMurray of Gans, OK
1 brother: Jerry McConnell and Shaerron of Moore, OK
several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents
Graveside service will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2 pm at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home.
Viewing will be Tuesday 1 - 8 pm and Wednesday 10 am - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet Wednesday from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
