Mr. Nolan Mainus was born on September 8, 1943 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the son of James Albert Mainus and Mattie Elizabeth Vance Mainus. He was a 1962 graduate of Sallisaw High School and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Northeastern State Univeristy. He was married to Evelyn Stogsdill on May 27, 1966 in Tahlequah, Ok. He was an educator for 39 years in Arkansas and Oklahoma, retiring from Arkansas after 35 years. Mr. Mainus was a Deacon and Adult Sunday School Class Teacher at Northside Freewill Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Ok. He passed this life on February 25, 2007 in Sallisaw, Ok.
