Donald Wayne Lorton was born May 1, 1938 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, the son of Ernest Cleo Lorton and Lucille Helen Elvington. He graduated from Ramona, Oklahoma, now Caney Valley High School, in 1956. He attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. During college he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy. After service ended he lived in various locations between Southern California and Key West, Florida with occupations of Estate Grounds Keeper, commercial and private pilot, bar tending, professional photographer and ocean shrimp and fish harvesting. He was a school bus driver in Skiatook and retired from school bus driving for Tulsa Public Schools. In retirement, Don loved gardening and shared his produce with neighbors and friends. He currently was a volunteer at the Center for Handicap Disabilities in Tulsa.Mr. Lorton passed this life on December 23, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 73 years, 7 months and 22 days.
