Louis Locust, 75 of Evening Shade community passed away September 1, 2016 at his home. He was born May 3, 1941 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Ella (Beaver) Locust and Jess Locust. He married Vivan Diane Weber on February 11, 1967 in Raton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2013. Mr. Locust received his Associates degree from Connors, was a U.S. Army veteran, a truck driver and a member of Vian Creek Baptist Church.

3 sons and 2 daughters in law: Scott and Rhonda Thompson of Vian, OK,
Buck and Carmela Locust of Vian, OK and Sequoyah Locust of El Reno, OK
12 grandchildren: Austin Thompson, Dorinda Thompson, Jess Locust, Christopher Locust, Richard Livers JR., Ethan Locust, Cody, Ryan and Shane Jordan, Laura Livers, Riana Livers and Enoch Wofford
4 great grandchildren: Kiah Locust, Vincent Jay Thompson, Karter Locust and Cora Jordan
1 sister: Mariah Ballard
2 brothers: Leslie Locust and Jamers "Booter" Locust

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 1 son: Jay Thompson, 2 sisters: Edith Dalton and Paula Christie and 5 brothers: Mike McConnell, Abe Locust, Oaks Locust, Rock Locust and Toy Locust
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Vian Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Barnoskie Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
Active pallbearers will be Austin Thompson, Jess Locust, Christopher Locust, Richard Livers,
Charlie Knifechief, Sam McConnell, Les Locust and Choogie Blackbird.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Stevenson, Charlie Buck, Roger Collins, Ethan Locust, Karter Locust, Richard Livers JR, Vincent Thompson, Sam Veaver, Gary Barnoskie, Donald Blackbird, Kiah Locust and Cody Jordan.
Viewing will be 10 am - 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK
where the family will greet friends from 6 - 8 pm.
