Hazelgene McLellan King was born April 1, 1925 in Pawhuska, Ok., the daughter of John T. “Jack” McLellan and Myrtle Belle (Marshall) McLellan. She married Thomas William “Tom” King on October 23, 1945 in Sallisaw, Ok. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1981 in Sallisaw, Ok. Mrs. King was a 1943 Graduate of Panama High School and graduated from Sparks School of Nursing as an LPN. She worked as an LPN for over 20 years and as the Director of Nursing at Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home for 10 years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Adult IV Dept. and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She served several years as a proud member of the Bell Choir, member of the Sallisaw Cemetery Association, the Advisory Committee for Allied Health Career at Indian Captial Vo-Tech, member of the Sallisaw Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband Tom owned and operated restaurants for 15 years in Sallisaw and Ft. Smith. Mrs. King passed this life on May 17, 2011 in Ft. Smith, Ar.

3 daughters and sons in law: Treva and Howard Hamilton of Fayetteville, Ar.,
Jenna and Jack Rahm of Ada, Ok. and Dr. Patti Buxton and Sheldon of Sallisaw, Ok.
1 son and daughter in law: Mike and Elaine King of Edmond, Ok.
9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters: Daphna Jordan and Myrle Shelton, and 2 brothers: Jack and Wayne McLellan
