Helen Lafay (McMahan) Johnson, 85, of Vian, Oklahoma passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was born May 26, 1931 in Stigler, Oklahoma the daughter of Oscar Medford McMahan and Gracie Alice (Gamble) McMahan. She was married to George Washington Johnson on August 23, 1947 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2000. Mrs. Johnson ran a nursery taking care of babies for 29 years and was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Vian, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; one son, Larry Johnson; one daughter in law, Misty Johnson; one grandson, Cyrus Martin Johnson; her parents, Oscar and Gracie (Gamble)McMahan; and 5 brothers and 5 sisters
Funeral service is Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10 am at Westside Church of Christ in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Viewing will be Thursday 10 am - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet friend from 6 - 8 pm.
