Shirley (Woody) Jenkins, 78, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was born April 22, 1938 in Long community, Oklahoma, the daughter of Raymond Woody and Dewie Maxine (Stites) Woody. She was married to Rudy Leroy Jenkins on March 10, 1974 in LaFayette, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2008. Mrs. Jenkins was a home health caregiver and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are:
4 sons and 2 daughters in law: Vernon Jenkins of Gulfport, MS, Terry Jenkins of Gulfport, MS, Rudy and Kelly Jenkins of Sallisaw, OK, and Robert and Charemon Jenkins of Sallisaw, OK
2 daughters: Cindy Robinson of Jacksonville, AL and Pam Thigpen of LaFayette, LA
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
3 brothers: Glen, Fred and John Woody, all of Sallisaw, OK
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Leroy Jenkins; 4 children, Johnny Powell, Glenda Green, Rhonda Powell, and Larry Powell; her parents, Raymond and Dewie Maxine (Stites) Woody; and 2 brothers, Curt and Dennis Woody
Funeral service is Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Ray Woody, Glen Dale Woody, Marty Woody, David Woody, David Green, and Trey Jordan
