James Edward "Jim" Hockenbury was born November 12, 1938 in Silverdale, Kansas, the son of William Harvey Hockenbury and Margaret Kathleen (Scruggs) Hockenbury. He was married to Carlen Lee (Hill) Hockenbury on August 12, 1983 in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Hockenbury was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran and a custodian at Sallisaw Public Schools. He was raised and educated in Arkansas City, Kansas and worked at Rodeo Meats in Arkansas City for 19 years before moving to Sallisaw. He passed this life on April 10, 2017 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Smith, AR

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Hockenbury and 3 brothers, Roy, Bruce, and Arnold Hockenbury
Graveside service will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 1 pm at Buffington Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Viewing will be Wednesday from 10 am - 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet from 6 - 8 pm.
